WHY WORRY? (4)

There’s a cloud of gloom rising and surrounding me! What can I do?...Panic? What good will that do? When things seem to be closing in and I’m almost overcome with negativity, I listen...and I can’t hear Him.  I call out "Why, Lord God?  Why do you hide your face from me?"  And in those very words I remember. Mark 15 v34. “My God, My God, Why have you forsaken me?” He hid his face from Jesus on Calvary and once again I am reminded of what the Saviour bore for me. My heart wells up in response to His love. I begin to thank Him through the tears and in His presence there is fullness of joy. Psalm16 v1. The darkness subsides and I see Jesus. My Redeemer. My Friend. He is my light in the darkest places.

In Psalm 61 David says, “I call to you God, as my heart grows faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. That rock is God, our refuge and strength. A very present help in times of trouble. Psalm 46 v1
